PDF documents have many advantages, but they can take up a lot of disk space and they can't be edited with standard tools. If you wish to make a few changes in your PDF files, then you should try PDFCool Free Studio. It enables you to manipulate PDF documents in almost any way. Splitting, merging or converting them, inserting and editing text or encrypting the documents are only a few examples.

The program is free to try for a limited period of time, but without any functionality restrictions. Installing PDFCool Free Studio does not involve any complex settings and it takes about a minute to complete the process. The program can be used on Windows XP, Vista, Win 7 or Win 8 and it does not require too many resources or additional tools.

The user interface can serve as a PDF viewer, but the options it presents can be used for much more than scrolling through a document. You can find text selection and editing tools, a page selector, as well as a few basic options, like changing the zoom level, opening or saving documents, on a toolbar. PDFCool Free Studio's core functions can be found in a series of top menus.

Each top menu contains a wide range of options, for manipulating text, pages or the entire documents. It is also possible to insert bookmarks, watermarks, to change the document's background and much more. Additionally, the software places a series of security tools at your disposal. You can use them to insert digital signatures and to encrypt your documents. When encrypting a document, you can create two different passwords, to prevent people from opening the document and from performing certain actions, like copying or printing its contents.

Converting documents is another possibility. You can choose to convert existing PDFs to another format or to convert any other text file or image to PDF. Depending on a PDF's contents, you can decide to store it as an image, convert it to HTML, if you wish to publish its contents or to convert it to a Scalable Vector Graphics file.

Pros

You can edit a PDF contents or add new ones. Documents can be merged or split and you can convert them as well. Also, the software allows you to watermark documents, encrypt them and perform other tasks to protect your work.

Cons

It may take some time to explore the program's controls. PDFCool Free Studio gives you full control over your PDF documents, to make them look the way you want and to protect their contents against theft.
